Our Life-Changing Experience--A Mother's Story

Like many other children born prematurely, as our twin boys grew into toddlers they were diagnosed with developmental delays.  They rarely spoke, would have temper tantrums and had difficulty eating and sleeping.  Even going to the park was a nightmare.  My husband and I felt like our family was falling apart, and that we were bad parents because of all the yelling and “time outs” we had to use on our kids. 

When we came to Tuesday’s Child, our whole world changed.  The boys immediately took to their classroom and teachers.  My husband and I began to use the Tuesday’s Child structure and discipline techniques at home, and they made such a difference with our children.  Our boys also started speech therapy which brought them from mostly grunting with a few words, to speaking and even singing songs.

Our boys are now in preschool and their first day of school was a breeze!  When they walked into school for the first time, they both sat down with a puzzle while other children were crying and clinging to their parents.  I know this great behavior is due to Tuesday’s Child.  Our boys continue to receive services at Tuesday’s Child and each day they continue to be better prepared for school and long-term success.  I am also still involved with the parenting groups, now serving as a peer mentor for new families. 

Tuesday's Child helped change our lives,  and this is a dream come true for our family.
