The Friendship Club

A Social Skills Group for Children Age 5-8

Good social skills can help children adjust to changes in their environments and help avoid verbal and physical confrontations.

The Friendship Club group will address five key social skills for young children:
• Self-Awareness: Recognizing and identifying own emotions and the emotions of others, recognition of own strengths and the strengths of others and self-confidence.
• Social Awareness: Empathy and respect for others and putting things in perspective.
• Responsible Decision Making: Evaluation and reflection.
• Self-Management: Impulse control, stress management, persistence and goal setting.
• Relationship Skills: Cooperation, help seeking and giving and communication.

Groups will be led by Joanne Perpoli, Psy. D. and Jess Bronairczyk, M.A.
