Brandon M. Combs, MNA
Executive Director
Brandon completed his Master’s in Nonprofit Administration from North Park University in 2009. He joined Tuesday’s Child in 2011 – bringing with him over 15 years of nonprofit experience in fundraising, financial management and programming. His primary focus is growing the program through strategic partnerships, marketing, outreach and building a strong referral network.

Margaret “Meg” M. Kincaid, Ph.D.
Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Meg Kincaid is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who joined Tuesday’s Child in October, 2012. Dr. Kincaid earned her Ph.D. in Clinical and School Psychology from Hofstra University in New York. She worked as a school psychologist for many years in Port Washington, New York and more recently for a north shore district near Chicago. Dr. Kincaid also works in clinical settings, serving as a cognitive behavioral psychologist for pediatric and adult patients in private practice and in hospital settings.

Rich Arend, Ph.D
Clinical Child Psychologist

Richard A. Arend, Ph.D., is a clinical child psychologist who began at Tuesday’s Child in 1987.  Dr. Arend supports our Behavioral Intervention services on Saturdays. Dr. Arend obtained his doctorate at the University of Minnesota, Institute of Child Development, where he did ground breaking research on the mother-infant attachment relationship and how it relates to children’s later competence.  He has clinical experience in individual and family psychotherapy, consultation to schools, crisis intervention, and parent education.


Jo Anne Loper
Director of Parent Education

Jo Anne first came to Tuesday’s Child in 1988, as a client with two young sons.  Impressed with the changes the program made on her family, she stayed on to volunteer as a peer mentor. Eventually Jo Anne joined the staff and is now the Director of Parent Education overseeing the parenting component of our Behavioral Intervention program and leading Outreach efforts throughout Chicagoland.

Katie Heenan Conklin, M.Ed
Program Director

Katie came to Tuesday’s Child as a master level intern in 2006. She was completing her degree in Human Services and Counseling with a concentration in family and young children. After completing her degree, Katie was licensed has a developmental therapist and professional counselor. Currently she supervises the classrooms and home visiting program at Tuesday’s Child. Additionally, she provides school advocacy support to parents and teachers.

Kimberly Heather, MBA
Development Director
Kim came to Tuesday’s Child with her son in 2008. After completing the program, she volunteered as a peer mentor and helped with fundraising events. In 2011, she joined the staff as the Development Director, responsible for fundraising and grant writing. She has her MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management and held various marketing positions in financial service firms for 15 years.

Juanita Tullis
Curriculum Coordinator/ Parent Liaison

Juanita came to Tuesday’s Child in 1985 as a parent participant with her three children. After completing the program Juanita volunteered for Tuesday’s Child and was shortly after hired to work in our classrooms. After completing her degree in Early Childhood she became the Curriculum Coordinator – designing and implementing Child Center activities, screenings and supporting individual learning styles. She works directly with our “Big Kids” classroom – working with children ages 4-6.

Maria Cruz
Bilingual Parent Coordinator

Maria is a native of Puerto Rico and has been residing in Chicago for over 25 years. She originally came to Tuesday's Child in 1991 as a parent of a two-year old with special needs, a four year old and an eleven year old. Maria completed the Behavioral Intervention program and continued as a peer mentor prior to beginning the spanish language component of our Behavioral Intervention program - Familias Felices.

Fran Smith

Fran holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois - Chicago and has continued her professional development in special education from Northeastern Illinois University. She spent 2 years in the Peace Corps in an Infant Survival Program and also worked in the Chicago Public Schools as a special education assistant. Fran has been involved with Tuesday’s Child since 1982. Fran originally came as a community volunteer and with time she became a member of the teaching staff. Fran currently works in our “Little Kids” classroom.

Amanda Scott

Amanda came through Tuesday’s Child as a difficult child over 25 years ago. As she became older Amanda began volunteering in the classroom. She joined the staff five years ago as a Classroom Teacher. She is a proud mother of two and believes that working at Tuesday’s Child has made her a better parent.
